Petite Millie, One Utama

I had an ad hoc outing with some friends last week, the venue was supposed to be Mid Valley but it was changed to One Utama, two hours before the promised time. =.= One of the excited friends suggested to have our lunch at Petite Millie, which I did not hear about before earlier. She is always actively reading food blogs. I think she is hungry all the time. XD

The cafe was almost empty when we reached. Probably it was still early, around 11:30am. It was quite spacious and they have a basket at every table for the ladies to put their handbags. We did not use that though since I feel it is safer to hug my bag.

The menu was written in some languages that I do not understand so I browsed it for quite some time, reading the small descriptions below the big alien names. T.T

I had a cup of my favourite Chamomile Tea (RM7). It is refillable, just by adding hot water anyway. I paid RM7 for a sachet of Boh tea. FML. It came with a piece of cookie, it was nice though. LOL

The friend decided to take a cup of Cappuccino (RM7). Nothing special I assume. :p

I wanted to order sandwiches initially but I changed my mind when I know there is pizza available. Haha. Lucky me because I saw the girl at the next table ordered exactly what I wanted to order and the portion is so huge that I think I needed to skip eating for the rest of the day if I ate that. I settled with the Iberian Beef Cecina (RM19.50). It came with chopped capsicums (I like capsicums yay~ ) and three slices of air dried beef loin which was very chewy. I could not bite it so I took the whole slice on the first bite. T.T (I grabbed the pizza by hand) The sauce was good, a little sweet and tangy.

The friend ordered the Avocado and Crab (RM19.50), also a pizza. A lot of crab chunks but the Friend commented that they were a bit tasteless. She wished that the crab chunks were saltier. Also, the avocado came in big pieces. It would be better if they were chopped smaller, so that they can be enjoyed together with the pizza.

The friend mentioned that the desserts were good. Too bad that we were too full for that. Next time maybe. Hmm, probably no. Haha. We will see.

Spasso Milano, Pavilion

I heard that they Spasso Milano had an outlet in Jalan Ampang previously. I have never gone to that outlet before and they have moved to Pavilion (Replacing the pricey Angus Grill) early this year. It is a porkelicious place, serving Italian Cuisine. :D My friend wanted to have something porky, so we dropped by to have a try.

They served Antipasti Buffet from 12pm to 3pm. We saw a lot of guests opted for that as their lunch option. We thought of trying their food quality from the ala carte menu before going for the buffet the next round. So we skipped it this time. :D

I like the setting of the restaurant. Spacious and classy. The service was not bad too besides the waitress could not explain well on the ala carte dish when I asked her about it. Anyway, at 12pm the restaurant was quite quiet and that's why I like it. Haha.

I had a glass of Iced Chocolate (RM15.80), served in a thin and tall glass. Quite pricey as it tasted a little like Iced Milo. :P It will be better if they top it with whipped cream. XD I like the fattening whipped cream on Iced Chocolate lol.

I had the Pork Valdostana (RM38), which is pork escalopes served with ham and cheese. The portion was scary for me, as it came with (big portion of) fusilli + broccoli. o.O Fusilli is one of my favourite pastas as it is kind of chewy~ I like penne too. :D

The two pieces of pork escalope were thick enough but the texture was very tender and juicy. Quite oily and over-salted due to the cheese and ham. We could smell the saltiness even before we took a bite on it. It would be better if the taste was slightly milder. The portion was huge that I could finish one and a half pieces of those escalopes. >.< (What a waste la me!)

My friend had the healthy Aglio Olio with not so healthy Pork Belly (RM32). There were three options of meat for the pasta. We could also choose our choice of pasta. :D My friend reckoned that that was the oiliest Aglio Olio she had ever had. Haha. It really looked oily, probably the oil from the pork belly. The pork belly slices were very juicy and VERY fatty. Haha. Layers of fats were so thick. o.O *heart attack*

I think it is a little bit pricey but I would like to drop by some time for their buffet anyway. :D I think it is worth for RM28. The food quality was good, just a little bit too fatty. *heart blockage* :P

Time Flies~

I met up with a long time friend of mine over the weekend and it reminded me of our past. She was a really close friend during secondary school and throughout the college time, sort of my partner in crime la. We skipped class together, go out together, basically I spent 70% of my time with her. The time when we were not together, we were actually on the phone with each other. Haha. What a nice memory.

With my partner in crime on 2006. Six years back. Our youth~ lol~

After graduated and she started to work, we seldom kept in touch anymore. This was due to some different ways of thinking too. I never agreed with what she decided and I got fumed whenever we talked about it. To stop all the negative feelings, I decided to stay away from her and just let her did whatever she wanted.

A long period past and I finally knew that I could not interfere her life, so I accepted the fact and started to stay in contact with her again. We were all grown ups by then and were so busy with our own working lives. Now, she is even further away as she works in another state.

Meeting with her always brings back our old sweet memories. Many things have changed though, mainly the way I think. However, there is one thing never changed. That is that we still look young as in six years back. Haha~ Anyway, I just want to wish her all the best in her new career.

We still look the same, don't we? Besides that I have lesser hair now. FML.

Outdated!

Hello weekend! I can see you~ XD Actually this is a really pointless post. Since I have left the blog rot for almost two weeks, I have decided to slip in something while waiting for my facial mask to dry up. :P Sorry for being boring, works have been depressing for the past few weeks. FML. Hope non of my colleagues read this. lol~

I went for shopping last weekend (After..... how long I have lost track) to heal my lonely soul due to those boring weekdays~ Errr I realized I have became an outdated Auntie. T.T Shops in the Pavilion have changed, many new shops and eateries have opened for some times and I was like Wow~ I should go out more often. It has been me, myself and my hamsters lately. :P Of course, I have successfully healed the soul buy donating out some cash to the shops. Ok la, at least I am a happier person now. XD

Actually the outing also was to have a meal with my longest serving friend, sort of to celebrate her birthday la, but without birthday cake though. I ordered a hand-drawn (I doubt) Morty mug for her. It is like those caricature printed on some products la. They have many choices of template to select from. I think it was a little too pricey for that as the printing quality was not that good. If you are interested, you can look at the products available here.

Alright, it is time to go to bed. Still have a date with my long lost friend tomorrow and I need to replenish sleeps that I am lack of during the weekdays~ End with a totally unrelated Magic Skin effect photo of me taken last weekend~ Good night everyone! :D

Caffeiness, Kampung Pandan

Wow~ I am busy busy busy! Haha, not much time to write here. Shoooo sad. I was not supposed to write about this first, but someone requested for it. I will do it first then. :P Anyway, I visited this place in the evening and the lighting there was so deem that I could not get nice photos. Forgive me, I do not have a good camera, only my Galaxy Note Note~ >.<

Caffeinees is a cafe cum restaurant which is situation right after Bulatan Kampung Pandan. If you come from Jalan Tun Razak, just keep all the way left when you reached the roundabout. It is located after the Arabian restaurant and some other expensive but not so nice restaurants. :P First impression was "Whoaaa, nice place.." The place is decorated as a garden-like white cafe. There are outdoor cafes at the front and also behind. It got very crowded after 8pm. T.T

If you ever drop by, I will advise you to take the outdoor cafe's seats. The indoor cafe is totally closed and it is extremely noisy. I could not really hear what my friend said. =.= Anyway, Caffeinees serves mainly Western food, ranging from sandwich to pasta to steak to baked rice. The prices are quite reasonable for me though.

I had a cup of hot Honey Milk, which came with a thick layer of foam. I do not know whether it was there purposely or the staff just forgot to scoop it up but I do not like foam on honey milk though. Very weird. Moreover, they put too much of honey into it, the drink was too sweet. I got choked on the first sip. =.="

My friend had a bowl of Borsch Soup. It came with two slices of garlic bread. It looks just normal. :p Actually I did not get to try it.

After browsing the menu for quite some time, I decided to order the Salmon Baked Rice as I already had pasta for lunch on that day. The baked rice came in a huge portion (to me la) and it was served on the drying pan itself. o.O Can't they bake the rice in a bowl or whatsoever? =.=" Anyway, it was good. A lot of salmon chunks and a lot of cheese. :D

Friend said she did not have appetite, so she ordered a set of Salmon Panini. Quite huge portion too. It came with some side salads. The Panini was too huge that my Friend could only finish one piece, and she just pull out the salmon slices from the other piece of panini to eat. lol~ She said salmon is expensive. Haha.

This concludes that we have small appetite *shy*. Anyway, the cafe was too busy and I think they are lack of staffs, so the service was not that good. We had to call them several times before they could come to us. Moreover, the indoor cafe was just too noisy. The interior was nice though. Will I come again? Hmm.. I have to consider first la. :p

Tong Pak Fu, Mid Valley

Tong Pak Fu was opened in Mid Valley many many months back. I always wanted to try their desserts (Menu looks so nice~ Awww) but always did not have the chance because..... we were attracted by the Snowflake stall on the same floor~ :p I like the Bestseller in Snowflake so every time when I wanted to go Tong Pak Fu, I'll go Snowflake instead if there was a seat. XD

At last I found a suitable time to go right after movie last weekend, before dinner date with some friends. :D Since we would be having dinner real soon, we could not order much. Only some ice and sweet soup maybe. However, the menu really made me mouth watering and spoiled with choices. It has desserts range from Snowy Ice to Hot Desserts to tarts and even some drinks. Stared at the menu sooooo long before ordering something real simple. Life is full of choices~ XD

Mango Snowy Ice (RM8.80) is one of their Best Sellers and one of the dessert I will always order. :D The portion was quite big, can be shared by two. The shaved ice was just very very soft and flavourful, with slight creamy taste. It came with some aloe vera and jelly bites. XD Nice! It melts quite fast too.. Make sure to finish it while it's still in the shape. :D Will order this again next time.

Then I thought of ordering a hot one, since it's cold in Mid Valley. I chose the Beancurd Skin with Egg Sweet Soup (RM5.80) as I always like 腐竹薏米. XD This one is a little bit overpriced. It came with two quail eggs but the sweet soup tasted little bit bland although the texture is very smooth. Moreover, the ginkgo is quite hard and bitter. >.< I would prefer those sold by vans at the road side. :p

Quail egg~

Will definitely drop by again to try other desserts. :D I can call my friends out to yum cha here next time~ I like desserts~~~ XD

No. I no love durian. >.<

Hey Mickey!

A week back, I was told that Mid Valley is having this event of Mickey Mouse, called Mickey Mouse through the Years~ Many Mickey's figurines are placed at the Centre Court as well as along the pathway of the shopping complex. The event will be going on until 10th of June in the Centre Court. I think they will move it somewhere else after that as I saw it stated the end date is 17th of September.. Hmm.. Need to find out about it.

There are over hundreds of 6-inch figurines and some 6-feet ones. All these figurines are painted creatively and submitted by institutions, companies and also individuals. Found some are painted by well-known artists. Not all that I found are nice but there are really some that I like very much. :D

The first from left is from Yisin. Others I cannot remember but I like them.

Some look decent too la. I saw one that was painted by a young kid, not too bad. A lot of pink ones lol. Some of the retailer companies made the Mickeys somehow represent their company. Like A Cut Above put on some funny hairstyle and make up to the Mickey (Pity). XD

I found out there are a few which I think are not that nice. There is this especially one that I think is very eye-catching but yet very ugly. Hahaha. Sorry, that's the one from Amber Chia. It just too unique and too much la, just like the owner. Ow, Amber Chia's fans please do not kill me~ :p

Yucks!

Short Getaway @ Singapore Day 2

Let's continue on Day 2.

I did not get a good sleep the whole night. In fact, I think I did not even sleep. FML. Life still needs to be carried on anyway. XD So we had our complimentary breakfast at the hostel (Toasted breads and cornflakes) before heading towards Orchard for shopping of the day~

While waiting for Yi-Pei and another friend who is working in JB to come by, we shopped by ourselves in ION first. The basement floors have a number of cheap and average apparel shops. The upper floors were occupied with branded shops. There were a lot of eateries and a food court at the basement. We had our lunch at the food court when the friends arrived. Quite a number of choices and the Indonesian stall sells very cheap food. XD

Our phones! We are Galaxy group. :D

Then we walked around at Orchard before taking MRT to Bugis for more shoppings! :D Whoa, I like Bugis although it's packed. A lot of nice and cheap dresses. Heaven arrrr~~ XD But I ended up did not buy anything because I would be buying a lot if I do. :p The other girls did buy something though *clap hands*

We pit stop for tea time as my back bone was aching due to long walking. :p Yi-Pei suggested we try the Ritz Strudels across the road. It was a small cafe at the corner of the road opposite Bugis Junction. Although small, it was quite busy. I saw people in and out during our visit there. :D

Turned out that they really have very nice strudels. Good suggestion! Cannot remember how much does the mini strudel cost (Because someone was paying, thank you!), but it was crispy. The strudels were not too sweet, just nice with enough of filling. I like the Mango Strudel, the mango slices were sweet~ The Apple Strudel was not bad too. Can give it a try if you drop by that place. XD

After tea, there were more shopping and walking.. Till around 6++pm and both of the friends left after our dinner at McD.

Tiramisu McFlurry!

YChen and I headed towards Marina Bay Sands right after they left. :D We alighted at Bayfront station and walked around the shoppes. After sunset, we went out to the park to have a walk and took some nice photos although I was tad tired. >.<

We walked till the DNA bridge which was packed with people as well. I felt the bridge was shaking anyway lol.

There was some fireworks when we were on the bridge (Lucky us!). We got to see fireworks twice during our visit to Singapore, not bad at all. XD

We wanted to walk to the Merlion thingy across the lake but I was too tired and we backed off. There ended our short journey to the South on last weekend~ It's a fruitful trip. I got to go to USS finally, got to see my friends who are working far far away, got to walk around and got to spend my time out there which I usually just waste it like that. :p

Hope more trips are coming soon in the near future~ Adios~ XD

P/S: More photos can be viewed at here.
